Crumbly slices
Asked on 26 Feb 2018 by Pansypotter
Dear Lindsay
I have just made Apricot oat slices and followed the recipe exactly - pressing down firmly in the pan
I think there is something wrong with this recipe as it doesn’t cut into squares it just crumbles into bits.
After searching to see if anyone else had experienced any problems with this I found that another person wrote in last year with the same comments.
Kind regards
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
You’re right we have had similar feedback in before.
I will speak to Delia but in the meantime, we included this recipe in the cookery school if you want to have a look.
It definitely helps if you press the mixture down firmly and use soft (squidgy) ready to eat apricots.
We filmed the cookery school in the summer, and it was very hot under the lights, so I found chilling the slices in the fridge between cutting it and moving the squares helped them stay together a bit more, but we also find that the crumbly edges are part of the charm.
