

I am going to make a 4 tier traditional fruit wedding cake for my daughter.
I want each cake to be 4 inches deep. How do I size up the recipe for this depth. The recipes on here do not state the depth of tin.
Any hints gladly received

Hello Eve,
We do not have a record on the depth of cakes.
I cannot guarantee this, but I’d say that the classic fruit cake is about 3 inches deep.
So, because you can trim a fruit cake I’d increase the amount by 25% to gain the extra inch.
