Microwave chutney!

Hi
Can I microwave Delia's Old Doverhouse Chitney? I love the recipe but it does takes ages to cook on the hob.

Hello Joan,
We haven’t tried, but I think it would take ages for a full batch to cook, reduce down and thicken in a microwave as well. I think a large wide saucepan on the hob is best and if you wanted to speed it up you can increase the heat and stir frequently to make sure it doesn’t catch.
A smaller batch will probably work well in the microwave and wouldn’t need as much stirring if that’s better for you.
