Planning to make a Christmas Cake but not feeding it!

Hi, I make Delia's cake but do not put in any alcohol so usually use fruit juice. I am never clear whether I should 'feed' it with something? If I don't do I need to make it so far in advance?

Hello Julia,
A rich fruitcake will mature over time as the vine fruits release tannins.
I wouldn’t feed if your not using alcohol.
I’d probably make the cake 4 weeks ahead if I were not feeding it.
