In Delia's recipe for Wholemeal loaf (adaped from Doris Grant's recipe) why does she have 1 dessertspoon of salt in the recipe. I have made this following the recipe to the letter and it tastes awful. I have made it again a few days later with 1 teaspoon and it tastes much better. Thank you.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
We make this recipe regularly as published with 1 level dessertspoon of salt and we are happy with the flavour and do not find it tastes salty.
It is more than the amount you will find nowadays in a supermarket loaf, so yes in comparison this homemade loaf will taste saltier for some but tastier for others.
It is personal taste, and this recipe works without salt for those on a salt free diet or with less salt for those who prefer less.
Best wishes
Lindsey
