I made the venison, Guinness casserole and used lots more Guinness that required but it still did not have much sauce. Where am I going wrong please?

Did you set the oven to 140 conventional top and bottom heat?
Did your casserole have a very tight-fitting lid?
I’m wondering if either the oven temperature was set too high or there was too much evaporation of the liquid during cooking.
